Skardu, located in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan, is a picturesque and captivating destination. Nestled amidst the towering peaks of the Karakoram Range, Skardu offers breathtaking landscapes, serene lakes, and a rich cultural heritage. The town serves as a gateway to some of the world’s highest mountains, including K2. Visitors can explore Shangrila Resort, known as “Heaven on Earth,” and take boat rides on the pristine Upper Kachura Lake. Additionally, the ancient Skardu Fort, perched on a hilltop, provides panoramic views of the surrounding valleys. Adventure enthusiasts can embark on treks to nearby glaciers, such as Baltoro Glacier and Concordia. Skardu’s unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance makes it an unforgettable destination for travelers seeking both tranquility and adventure.

Tour Overview

Day 1

Islamabad to Chilas

Our Skardu adventure begins with departure from Islamabad at 8:00 AM towards Chilas. The journey takes approximately 10–12 hours via the beautiful Hazara Motorway, followed by a scenic drive along the mighty Indus River. Enjoy breathtaking mountain views of the Kohistan region, with short refreshment & photography stops along the way. By evening, we arrive in Chilas for dinner & an overnight stay at Chilas.
Day 2

Chilas to Skardu

On Day 2, after breakfast, we depart for Skardu via the legendary Karakoram Highway. En route, we stop at Jaglot Junction, the remarkable point where the three great mountain ranges — Karakoram, Himalaya, and Hindu Kush — meet. The drive offers spectacular landscapes where the Indus River winds through dramatic valleys. Upon arrival in Skardu in the afternoon, explore Skardu Bazaar, enjoy an optional hike to Kharpocho Fort (Skardu Fort) for panoramic sunset views, or take a peaceful riverside walk along the Indus River. Overnight stay will be in Skardu.
Day 03

Manthokha Waterfall – Katpana Desert – Shigar Valley

On Day 3, the day is dedicated to natural and cultural wonders. We begin with a morning visit to Manthokha Waterfall, a majestic 180-foot-high waterfall surrounded by lush green fields and rocky cliffs. Enjoy photography, tea, relaxation, and approximately 3–4 hours in this serene setting. Later, we visit Katpana Desert, the world’s highest cold desert, famous for its golden sand dunes set against snow-capped peaks — an ideal spot for sunset photography. In the evening, we explore Shigar Valley and visit the historic 400-year-old Shigar Fort, known for its beautiful Balti architecture, museum, traditional gardens, and rich cultural heritage. We return to Skardu for an overnight stay.
Day 04

Basho Valley & Soq Valley (Adventure Day)

On Day 4, we embark on an adventure-filled day to Basho Valley and Soq Valley. Basho Valley welcomes us with lush green meadows, crystal-clear streams, wooden forests, and natural waterfalls — perfect for light hiking and nature photography. We then continue towards Soq Valley for an exciting off-road jeep adventure, exploring untouched meadows, alpine scenery, peaceful picnic spots, forest trails, and wetlands. After a full day immersed in nature, we return to Skardu for the night.
Day 05

Khaplu Valley – Royal Heritage Experience

On Day 5, we travel to the beautiful Khaplu Valley, approximately 2.5–3 hours from Skardu. The main highlight is Khaplu Palace, a magnificent 19th-century royal palace showcasing preserved Balti heritage architecture, a museum, and cultural exhibitions, all set against a spectacular mountain backdrop. Guests will also enjoy scenic views of the Shyok River, visits to local villages and orchards, ancient mosques, and opportunities for cultural interaction with locals. We return to Skardu for overnight stay.
Day 06

Drive back from Skardu To Besham / Chilas

On Day 6, after breakfast, we begin our return journey towards Chilas. The drive includes scenic stops along the Karakoram Highway and photography breaks. We arrive in Chilas by evening for an overnight stay.
Day 07

Drive Back to Islamabad

On Day 7, after breakfast, we depart for Islamabad and arrive by evening, concluding the tour with unforgettable memories of Skardu’s breathtaking landscapes and rich culture.
